Frequently Asked Questiones

Discover answers to the most common questions about MRI scans, including how they work, their safety, and what to expect during the procedure.

An MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan is a medical imaging technique that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of the inside of your body. It is non-invasive and helps doctors diagnose various conditions, such as joint injuries, nerve issues, and organ abnormalities.

MRI scans are generally safe as they do not use radiation like X-rays or CT scans. However, they may not be suitable for individuals with certain metal implants, pacemakers, or claustrophobia. Before the scan, the clinic will review your medical history to ensure your safety.

Preparation for an MRI scan is minimal. You may need to avoid eating or drinking for a few hours if contrast dye is required. Remove all metal objects before the scan. The procedure typically lasts 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the examined area.
